New Nourish Integration Partner: PainChek®

By Sarah Jenkins

PainChek® integration adds AI-powered pain assessment technology to Nourish Care portfolio

Nourish Care has unveiled a new integration with the world’s first artificial intelligence (AI)-powered pain assessment tool PainChek®, that marks a new era in the app-based tools available to care home providers.

PainChek’s AI and smart automation technology analyses facial micro-expressions indicative of pain in residents, particularly those living with dementia or cognitive impairments and unable to reliably communicate their pain.

This two-way integration allows Nourish to leverage the PainChek® technology by surfacing timely, insightful, and actionable PainChek® assessment scores and observations, supporting better decision-making at the point of care, and improving care outcomes. In addition, two-way data sharing between platforms eliminates duplication and error risk, improving productivity and enabling care teams to spend more time providing truly person-centred care to the people they support.

By introducing PainChek® to the Nourish care management platform, care providers and staff now have a choice of multiple pain assessment interactions that facilitate proactive interventions at the point of care, to enhance care management, promote best practice, and improve care outcomes.

“We are excited to be partnering with PainChek®, which serves a wide range of care providers across the UK with its innovative pain management system. This is now available as an integration within the Nourish platform, opening up a new range of opportunities to improve the quality of person-centred care our customers can provide. We look forward to seeing the positive outcomes for those receiving care and how facial recognition technology brings a new dimension to pain assessments for our customers.” Jeremy Baldwin, Chief Product Officer at Nourish Care

Tandeep Gill, Senior Business Development Manager at PainChek, says: “We are delighted to have partnered up with Nourish Care to support its clients to enhance their technology-enabled dementia care. Pain can be challenging to identify and effectively manage for people living with dementia, but this integration makes care home residents’ pain data even more accessible, allowing for better pain analysis and insights, and changing the way we manage pain for the better by providing actionable information that aids point of care decision-making. It also supports tailored care planning that is focused on the needs of each individual resident, in turn enabling carers to focus on delivering the highest possible standard of care.”

“The joining up of Nourish and PainChek’s solution creates a rich and innovative integration for digitally enabled care,” Tandeep adds, “with meaningful functionality, capability and collaboration, enabling better pain management and enhancing overall care outcomes.”

To mark the launch of the integration, PainChek is offering a 20% discount on PainChek® licences and 50% discount on the related PainChek® training for customers that are subscribed to Nourish and PainChek before 1st June 2022. Terms and conditions apply.
