Cornwall Care are the largest care provider in Cornwall. A not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, they provide practical assistance for all types of care. As well as offering residential, nursing and dementia care in their 16 care homes, Cornwall Care supports younger adults with mental health issues and helps over 1,000 people across the county to live independently in their own homes.
Cornwall Care has a clear philosophy: “We believe in going above and beyond offering high-quality care, going that extra mile to improve lives every day.”
In 2018, Cornwall Care looked to reduce the amount of time their staff were spending on paperwork so that staff will have more time to deliver frontline care and support. Chief executive, Anne Thomas, said:
“Technology is making a huge difference to the ways in which we deliver care, and our investment in Nourish gives our staff a powerful new tool to record accurate information on the go.
“It allows them to closely monitor an individual’s needs to make sure we are providing the best possible care and support, and it’s transforming the way we look after people across our 16 homes.”
Thomas added: “The system enables us to capture the well-being of each individual person so that we can provide care and support in a person-centred way. We are also working with individuals and their relatives to enable them to add their own accounts and observations.”
